MANILA, Philippines —  Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. filed on Thursday separate cyber libel cases against lawyer Levito Baligod, the legal counsel of 18 ex-marines, and former lawmaker Elizaldy Co. Tiu Laurel filed the complaints at the Makati City prosecutor’s office on Thursday, refuting the ex-marines’ allegations of his alleged involvement in the delivery of “maleta” (suitcases) full of money meant for kickbacks. He likewise slammed Co’s claim about his alleged role in onion importation or agricultural smuggling.
