"The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) released footage on Wednesday showing strikes on alleged Hezbollah targets in Lebanon as ground operations are under way. The military said it carried out precision strikes targeting armed operatives and infrastructure in the Bint Jbeil area. Footage shows smoke billowing from impact sites as strikes hit what the IDF described as military positions, including an anti-tank missile launch base. Lebanese security sources reported that Israeli ground forces have been advancing toward Bint Jbeil after encircling the town of Khiyam. The developments follow the launch of what Israel described as ‘limited’ ground operations in southern Lebanon on March 16. Since the latest escalation, at least 968 people have been killed and 2,432 injured in Lebanon, according to the country’s health ministry. The strikes come amid a widening regional conflict following joint strikes by the United States and Israel against Iran on February 28. Tehran has since launched retaliatory strikes targeting Israel and US assets across the region, with the conflict expanding to include cross-border exchanges involving Hezbollah. During the escalation, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed and later succeeded by his son Mojtaba Khamenei. The fighting has also disrupted shipping routes, including the Strait of Hormuz, pushing oil prices above 100 USD per barrel and adding pressure to global markets."
