"Paraguayan authorities detected a package of cocaine hidden in an engine, which had as its final destination the city of Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. The finding was made on Thursday at the Silvio Pettirossi International Airport, in Asuncion. The drug was located by agents of the National Anti-Drug Secretariat (SENAD), within the framework of the permanent controls carried out in the cargo area. When they inspected a starter motor used for heavy machinery, a canine unit alerted to a suspicious substance. According to authorities, a total of one kilo and 714 grams of cocaine was found, which was secured to continue with the corresponding investigations. It was reported that the package had been sent from Ciudad del Este. In these actions, no arrests were reported. According to SENAD estimates, the seized drug has an approximate value of 150 thousand dollars in Dubai, reflecting that the Emirati market is one of the most lucrative destinations for South American drug trafficking."
