Pagasa retires 7 tropical cyclone names used in 2025

LAPU-LAPU CITY, Cebu — Seven tropical cyclone names used in 2025 have been permanently removed from the country’s naming roster after the storms caused widespread deaths and billions in damage, the state weather bureau announced. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the decommissioned names are Crising, Emong, Mirasol, Nando, Opong, Tino, and Uwan.
