Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has asked Rupali Chakankar, Chairperson of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women, to resign. This comes after Chakankar's close ties to Ashok Kharat, a spiritual leader arrested for sexual assault, were revealed. Kharat faces allegations of sexually assaulting and videotaping women. Chakankar is a trustee in one of Kharat's temple trusts.
