Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir on Saturday said terrorists operating from cross-border sanctuaries in Afghanistan would not be allowed to destabilise Pakistan. The remarks came during his visit to Kurram, where he celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr with troops and officers, according to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The CDF offered Eid prayers alongside soldiers and prayed for the country’s peace, stability and prosperity. During his interaction with officers and troops, he extended Eid greetings and lauded their high morale, professionalism and unwavering commitment to defending the nation. He also appreciated the performance of troops in Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq, noting that the operation aims to dismantle terrorist networks and ensure durable peace in border areas. Reiterating Pakistan’s position, the CDF emphasised that Afghan soil must not be used by hostile elements to launch activities against Pakistan, while reaffirming the country’s commitment to regional peace and stability. Paying tribute to the martyrs, he said the success of ongoing operations is anchored in the sacrifices of fallen soldiers and the resolve of officers and jawans. He expressed confidence in the troops’ steadfastness and reiterated the armed forces’ determination to safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Upon arrival, the CDF was received by the Corps Commander Peshawar, the ISPR added.
