Italian news agency ANSA confirmed the 86-year-old director’s hospitalization. Local media outlet repubblica.it reported that Coppola was due to undergo a pre-scheduled surgical procedure. However, before entering the operating room, he was hospitalized due to atrial fibrillation, a heart condition characterized by irregular heartbeat.
