Free-speech academic Louise Richardson stood firm against PC insanity in universities, rejecting cancel culture, safe spaces and toxic identity politics. One of seven children from a Republican background in Tramore, she won a scholarship to college and went on to be the first woman head of Oxford, honoured by the Queen for her work. She would make a great successor to Michael D Higgins.
