"The United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres landed in Beijing on Tuesday, as he is set to attend the landmark Shanghai Co-operation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin. Footage shows the UN chief being welcomed by Chinese officials and speaking with the hosts as he makes his way to the airport before entering his motorcade and departing. Guterres previously attended the SCO Summit in Astana last year. The 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, chaired by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is scheduled to take place from August 31 through September 1. The upcoming meeting promises to be the largest in history. Leaders from more than 20 countries and representatives of international organisations have confirmed their participation. They will discuss economic co-operation on technology, innovation and artificial intelligence, as well as issues of regional security and sustainable development. The SCO brings together 10 member states, 14 dialogue partners and two observer countries. China holds its landmark 80th anniversary Victory Parade in Beijing on September 3, attended by many world leaders and dignitaries."
