"Preparations for China's Victory Day parade continue in grand style as the four strategic PLA forces - aviation, cyberspace, information support, and joint logistics - unveil their new flags ahead of their debut at the much-anticipated occasion. Footage released on Saturday shows the intensive training of the forces for the parade, with soldiers marching in step under the fresh flags. The exact location of the footage cannot be independently verified. "It is a great honour for me to carry the flag of the aerospace force past Tiananmen Rostrum and receive the review of the commander-in-chief," expressed Xu Xi, flag bearer of the aerospace force formation. The joint logistics support force formation, meanwhile, features female soldiers marching with equal precision as their male counterparts, embodying the unit's motto. "An elite soldier is not defined by gender, and the battlefield makes no distinction of rank [...] We hold to the same standards, we march in the same rhythm. From simple repetition we forge excellence; through meticulous refinement we craft perfection," remarked Zhang Lin, an officer of the joint logistics support force formation. Earlier, Chinese President Xi Jinping ordered the unveiling of the flag designs for the four branches ahead of the 98th anniversary of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) on August 1. This introduction of branch flags signifies the creation of a new military flag system for the People's Army, which includes the PLA flag, the flags of the army, navy, air force, and rocket force, as well as those of the aerospace, cyberspace, information support, and joint logistics support forces. China holds its landmark 80th anniversary Victory Parade in Beijing on September 3, attended by many world leaders and dignitaries."
