"Hundreds marched through Paris on Saturday to call for an end to the ongoing war in Gaza and voice their opposition to the killing of Palestinian journalists. Footage shows protesters chanting as they marched while carrying Palestinian flags, effigies of corpses, as well as fake 'bloodied' bags of flour and humanitarian aid boxes. Demonstrators condemned the French government, accusing the Interior Ministry of trying to 'muzzle the truth' after local authorities allegedly attempted to ban the use of 'fake corpses and shrouds' at the march. "We do this all the time and it's never been a problem, but today it's not possible to show this - even though it has been a reality for 692 days. We will comply, but we will certainly not remain silent, and we will shout even louder," one protester said. "Anything that might expose the criminal acts of the State of Israel is simply banned," another added. "They want to hide the truth from the French people. This is part of a process of complicity on the part of the French State." The protest comes after 20 people, including five journalists, were killed in Israeli strikes on Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza's Khan Younis on Monday. The Israeli army claimed responsibility for strikes and expressed regret for the casualties, but denied that they targeted journalists. The IDF also claimed that six of those killed were 'terrorists'. The Israel-Hamas war in Gaza broke out on October 7, 2023, when the Palestinian group launched an unprecedented attack on southern Israel, killing 1,139 people and kidnapping more than 200 others, according to Israeli officials. The Israeli military's subsequent military operations in Gaza have killed more than 63,300 people and injured over 159,800 others at the time of publication, according to Gaza's Ministry of Health."
