Bayern Munich made it two wins from two in the Bundesliga after a mixed display in a 3-2 victory at Bavarian neighbours Augsburg on Saturday. The win was far less flowing than the opening 6-0 humbling of RB Leipzig but initially was not in doubt, with Serge Gnabry's header and goal from ex-Liverpool man Luis Díaz coming in the first half. Michael Olise added the third early in the second period before Kristijan Jakić's volley and Mert Kömür's finish gave home fans real hope. Augsburg could have levelled, but leaders Bayern hung on. "It was annoying (to concede) but we missed lots of chances too," Bayern captain Manuel Neuer told Sky. Bayer Leverkusen earlier threw away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 at 10-man Werder Bremen as Erik ten Hag's first two Bundesliga games brought him just a point. The Dutchman had watched last season's runners-up lose 2-1 at home to Hoffenheim last weekend. But Patrik Schick and new strike partner Malik Tillman had them 2-0 up against injury-hit Bremen before a debatable penalty through Romano Schmid cut the deficit. The visitors thought they had closed out the game thanks to Schick's cool penalty - but Isaac Schmidt's debut goal prompted a nervy finish and Karim Coulibaly grabbed the leveller in stoppage time. Schick told DAZN: "We have to improve very quickly because this is not the way how we want to perform. We have two games played and we should have six points. Even more difficult games are coming." VfB Stuttgart got used to life without new Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade with a 1-0 home victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach. Former Real Madrid midfielder Chema Andrés headed home on 79 minutes. Leipzig won their first game since the exit of Xavi Simons by beating Heidenheim 2-0 at home. Doan flying for Frankfurt The Bundesliga has seen a wave of high-profile departures this window but Japan's Ritsu Doan showed he could be the league's new star with two goals in Eintracht Frankfurt's 3-1 success at Hoffenheim. His first league goal for the Eagles, third last term and second at present, was a curling left-foot effort and his second a near tap-in. He set up Can Uzun with a nutmeg for 3-0 at last season's strugglers Hoffenheim, whose bubble from the win at Leverkusen was soon burst - despite Grischa Prömel's late rocket. St Pauli beat 2-0 Hamburg on Friday. On Sunday, Wolfsburg host Mainz, Borussia Dortmund welcome Union Berlin and Cologne face Freiburg. New Augsburg coach Sandro Wagner - an ex-Bayern striker - was on a high for the champions' visit after an opening 3-1 win at Freiburg. Bayern, after a tricky German Cup win at third-tier Wehen Wiesbaden in midweek, almost scored in the first minute through Luis Díaz. Gnabry then headed in midway through the first half from Harry Kane's cross as Augsburg backed off too much. Colombia's Luis Díaz finally got his goal - his third since joining - when he turned in Konrad Laimer's cutback on half-time. Olise, thanks to another Kane assist, put Bayern clear but a lax second half almost let Augsburg back in. It is four wins to start the season, including the Super Cup against Stuttgart, and Bayern reach the international break relieved. Vincent Kompany's side still look short of numbers - especially after a loan move for Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson appeared to fall through - and have just two days to bring players in before the window shuts.
