"Hundreds of people joined an anti-government protest in Paris on Saturday, demanding the resignation of President Emmanuel Macron amid the deepening political crisis in France. Footage shows protesters chanting such slogans as ‘Macron out’ and ‘Freedom’, while marching through the streets of the French capital. They can be seen lighting flares of the French flag colours and waving national flags. President of Les Patriotes party, Florian Philippot, led the rally, carrying a large banner bearing ‘Impeachment’. He condemned French President Emmanuel Macron's recent decision to reappoint Prime Minister Sebastian Lecornu just days after he resigned from his post. “What happened yesterday at the Elysee Palace is surreal because we have a man who is completely unpopular, illegitimate, who wants to take us into war, who wants to censor everything except himself, and who clings to his little throne at the Elysee Palace like a madman,” he stated. "Frexit is the solution: to liberate ourselves, to be a free country and a free people, an independent country and an independent people. A sovereign country and a sovereign people. Long live France and free France!" he continued. Others at the rally echoed his sentiments. “He's there to destroy France and the French people. Macron and all the people around him who are highly paid and not doing their jobs need to be removed,” declared protester Dominique. “We are in the European Union, everything is decided, if not in Frankfurt, then in Brussels, if not in Brussels, then in Washington, because of the European Union Treaty and the NATO Treaty. Being in the euro, which is a currency that is delusional in itself. That's already three big problems,” Philippe said. “The real problem, in my opinion, is Europe, which was sold to us as something other than what it actually is today. Today, it is a huge machine that wants to crush the people,” Corinne added. The resignation of Lecornu, the country's fifth PM in two years, came just hours after he had announced his cabinet. The outgoing PM blamed 'egos', saying rival parties were behaving as if they had a majority in the National Assembly and demanding their own policy platforms be taken in full. Shortly after the resignation announcement, Macron asked him to stay in office for two more days to negotiate with the opposition in an attempt to overcome the political impasse. Macron is facing widespread calls for his resignation, with the New Popular Front (NPF) alliance pressing him to appoint a new prime minister from their bloc."
