Raging fire engulfs several homes in Lima neighbourhood, leaving at least four injured

"A massive fire erupted in the San Juan de Miraflores district of Lima on Saturday afternoon, injuring four people and consuming several homes in its path. Footage shows towering flames and thick smoke engulfing the Pamplona Alta neighbourhood, as emergency crews worked through the night to contain the blaze. According to local media, the flames destroyed at least ten houses, displacing dozens. Meanwhile, other reports suggest the number of homes burned in the fire exceeds 100. At least four people have been injured - two sustaining burns and two suffering from smoke inhalation - while hundreds of families were evacuated before the fire was brought under control. Homes made of wood, planks and plastic helped the fire spread quickly through the crowded hillside area. Interim President Jose Jeri called for 'immediate action' to assist affected families, announcing that the government had launched a multisectoral deployment to provide relief and assess damages."
