"An Indian Air Force special flight delivered sacred relics of Buddha Shakyamuni to Elista in Russia’s Kalmikiya Republic on Saturday. Footage shows monks carrying the artefacts, as well as Indian Ambassador to Russia Vinay Kumar, Chairperson of the Central Spiritual Board of Buddhists of Russia Lama Geshe Yonten, and Kalmykia Head Batu Khasikov attending a ceremonial prayer to mark the event. "I would like to thank our Indian friends for this priceless gift to Russian Buddhists," Yonten wrote via his Telegram channel. "Receiving these relics is like meeting Buddha himself." According to the Kalmikiya Government, the relics will be exhibited at the Burkhan Bakshin Altan Sume ('The Golden Abode of the Buddha Sakyamuni') from October 12-18."
