Quezon City fire leaves 3 children dead

MANILA, Philippines — Three siblings ages 10, seven, and five perished in a fire that broke out at a residential area in Quezon City on Tuesday. Reports from the city’s Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the blaze started at about 11 a.m. in Barangay Sto. Domingo. Arson investigators and members of the Scene of the Crime Operation were at the fire scene to retrieve the bodies of the three children. Janine Miñoza, the victim’s mother, said she went to a nearby hospital to assist her mother when the fire broke out. BFP personnel said an investigation on the cause of the fire is ongoing. Mayor Joy Belmonte instructed the City Social Welfare and Development Office to extend assistance to the family of the victims.
