MANILA, Philippines — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (Caap) has banned flights near the areas of the Mayon, Bulusan, Kanlaon and Taal Volcanoes until 9 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 17, citing their continued volcanic activities. The notices to airmen (NOTAMs) were issued on Thursday morning and covered flights near Mayon Volcano in Albay; Kanlaon Volcano in Negros; and Taal Volcano in Batangas.
