Magnitude 6.2 earthquake rocks Surigao del Norte

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY—A magnitude 6.2 earthquake rocked Surigao del Norte at 7:03 a.m. on Friday, state seismologists said. According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), the offshore tremor was traced 13 kilometers southeast of General Luna, a town in touristy Siargao Island in Surigao del Norte province. Recorded instrumental intensities:Intensity 4 in Cabadbaran City of Agusan del Norte; Hinunangan, San Francisco, Hinundayan, and Silago of Southern Leyte; and Surigao City of Surigao del Norte.
