MANILA, Philippines — The death toll from the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Cebu province on Sept. 30 has risen to 79, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported Friday. The NDRRMC said the fatalities are still subject to validation. The agency also reported 559 injured individuals and said no one has been reported missing, based on its 8 a.m. situation report.
