Rafael Rosell warns about sham movie project; scammers even pretended to be his manager

Former Widows' War star Rafael Rosell made a video to warn the public about a fake movie project that he almost fell victim to. In an Instagram video, the TV-movie actor wanted to inform everyone that scammers tried to lure him into a fake movie and they even created fake accounts to pretend to be his manager and road manager. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Rafael Rosell (@rafrafrosell) Rafael recalled the incident saying, “Watch out because I almost fell victim to it. It started off by them wanting to get me for a movie.” According to his recollection, these scammers even mentioned a certain ABS-CBN executive and an actress-vlogger, who will be part of this project. “So, they use multiple accounts to pretend that they were my road manager and my manager. They also pretended to be a certain director and they also said that a lot of other celebrities were part of the project. Other names that were dropped were Ivana Alawi, Sid Lucero, Netflix Philippines, Black Sheep, Lauren Dyogi, and ABS-CBN, so be aware. “And then try to isolate me for a casting call. One on one, in a zoom meeting or a Telegram call, so they created a fake Telegram account of my manager, and my road manager and themselves. And then, when the casting call happened they didn't show their face, which was already sketchy at that point. “They asked me to be in a private room, so that nobody would see or hear whatever is going on that would be talked about regarding the movie, 'cause they said sensitive details would be revealed during this phone call. And already then, I knew or I felt that it was a scam, because nobody does that.” For those who are unfamiliar with how legit movie project offers and castings go, Rafael shared these reminders, “First of all, when someone inquires for a movie they give certain details, they have a proper meeting, they show their faces. In this case, they just made a bunch of fake accounts and I'm just out here to warn everyone that they might use my name, since they have a video of me.” Celebrities like Geneva Cruz and content creator Mikey Bustos reacted to Rafael's warning and they expressed their alarm over what happened to him, too.
