Typhoon Uwan weakens over WPS; Signal No. 3 in 3 Northern Luzon areas

MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-Wong) has weakened over the West Philippine Sea Monday morning, while Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 remains in effect over three areas in Northern Luzon, state meteorologists said. In its 11 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Uwan has gusts of up to 160 kilometers per hour (kph) and maximum sustained winds of 130 kph, 20 kph less than earlier reported.
