Over P6M in aid given to residents affected by Uwan onslaught — OCD

MANILA, Philippines — Relief goods worth over P6 million have been given so far to residents affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Uwan (international name: Fung-wong), the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said on Monday. “Of this amount, P4.4 million was extended by the DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development); P447,060 came from various local government units; and P1.5 million was provided by other partners,” OCD Assistant Secretary Rafael Alejandro IV said in a press briefing in Camp Aguinaldo on Monday.
