Rome bus and metro strike on Friday 14 November

24-hour strike to affect Rome's buses and subway services on Friday. Commuters and tourists in Rome face travel disruption on Friday 14 November due to a 24-hour public transport strike from 08.30 to 17.00 and from 20.00 until end of service. The strike will impact the city's entire public transport network, affecting buses and subways (the capital's trams remain out of action until 8 December), operated by municipal transport provider ATAC. As required by law, public transport services will be guaranteed in Rome on Friday during the busiest commuter times: up until 08.29 and from 17.00 until 19.59. The walkout, which could also affect the circulation of night buses on 13 November, has been called by the USB Lavoro Privato and Orsa Tpl trade unions in protest over a range of issues including outsourcing of services and working conditions.
