Grab rolls out financing program for drivers, riders

MANILA, Philippines—Grab Philippines has rolled out its Buhay Asenso Cash Loan, a financing program for its partners—drivers, delivery agents, and riders—designed to provide faster access to funds and basic monthly benefits. Grab said the program aims to support partners in covering everyday expenses, vehicle maintenance, healthcare, and education costs. The loan is applied for and credited digitally through Grab and Move It’s mobile applications, allowing partners to access funds without leaving their workflow. In addition to cash advances, the program provides rotating in-app perks, including discounts on vehicle maintenance, health consultations, tuition reductions, and savings through GrabMart vouchers. The launch took place at the Health & Wheelness 2025 Expo, Grab and Move It app’s annual wellness event, which drew over 4,000 partners and their family members. The expo offered free health services, including general checkups, pediatric consultations, ob-gyn, dental, and eye examinations, alongside booths for SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG registration to provide partners easier access to social protection programs. Also, the event featured interactive sessions on financial literacy, mental health, and vehicle care. CJ Lacsican, Grab Philippines Vice President for Cities and Country Head of Grab Financial Group, said the initiative is intended to provide partners with reliable financial support for urgent needs and long-term goals. “When financing is accessible and responsibly delivered, partners are better able to manage daily expenses and invest in their future,” Lacsican said in a statement. Alongside the in-person expo, Grab also launched an online program called “Brake Ka Muna,” which delivers practical tips on financial planning, health, mental well-being, and vehicle care. The initiative aims to reach partners that were unable to attend the event in person, offering actionable guidance to help incorporate self-care into daily routines.
