Agusan Marsh joins global migratory bird network

SAN FRANCISCO, AGUSAN DEL SUR — The Agusan Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary has been designated as part of the East Asian–Australasian Flyway Site Network, an international recognition that underscores its importance as a biodiversity hotspot. The designation formally recognizes Agusan Marsh as a critical stopover and refuge for migratory waterbirds that travel thousands of kilometers each year between their breeding and wintering grounds.
