DFA: 170 Filipinos in scam hubs across Southeast Asia yet to repatriated

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said that around 170 Filipinos in distress abroad have yet to be repatriated from scam hubs in various parts of Southeast Asia.   These Filipino workers have “active requests for assistance,” but have yet to be rescued or attended to, according to DFA spokesperson Angelica Escalona.   She, however, noted that the Philippine embassies are coordinating with authorities to ensure their safety while they work on their repatriation.   READ: DFA to repatriate Filipinos rescued from Myanmar scam hub   Meanwhile, a total of 346 Filipinos, who were rescued […]...
