MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Uwan weakened into a low-pressure area on Thursday morning while traversing the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said. In its 10 a.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Uwan was last located 405 kilometers north-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. Uwan was moving north-northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour and was expected to dissipate within the next 24 hours, Pagasa added.
