"The Russian Pacific Fleet corvette Gremyashchiy arrived in Colombo on Thursday to participate in the 2025 International Fleet Review (IFR), commemorating the Sri Lanka Navy's 75th anniversary. Footage captures the vessel approaching the port, where it is escorted and ceremonially welcomed by the Sri Lanka Navy. "We are honoured to call at the ports of Sri Lanka," said Senior Lieutenant Leonid Lysenko. "This time, it happened so that we've come just on the eve of the 75th anniversary, which is also a great honour for our ship, for our Fatherland." "We are honoured to represent the Russian Federation in such events. We'll do it with dignity," he emphasised. Lysenko hailed the lead vessel of Russia's Project 20385 class, describing it as 'the only hull of its kind,' equipped with advanced navigation systems and strike cruise missiles. The International Fleet Review is set to take place on November 30. Participating vessels will salute Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe in his role as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces - a ceremonial display of maritime cooperation. The Russian warship is one of eight foreign vessels participating in the review, representing seven countries: Bangladesh, India, Iran, Maldives, Malaysia, Pakistan and Russia."
