'No to impunity!' - Hundreds march in Buenos Aires against 'genocide' in Palestine, condemn Trump's support for Netanyahu

"Hundreds of people marched through the streets of Buenos Aires on Saturday, marking the UN International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and joining coordinated mobilisations across Europe, Africa and the Americas. Footage shows protesters marching near the Obelisk and reaching Plaza de Mayo, holding signs with messages such as 'No to impunity', 'Retirees with and for Palestine' and 'Palestine free of genocide', among others. The event was organised by the Argentine Committee of Solidarity with Palestine and the Encounter for Memory, Truth and Justice, bringing together members of civil society and various popular, social and political organisations. "There is a call from pro-genocide organisations trying to carry out a black scarf protest in defence of the genocidal perpetrators, for their freedom. That is why, from the Encounter for Memory, Truth and Justice and the Committee for Solidarity with Palestine, we coordinated this action to state clearly that we are on the streets against the genocides of yesterday and today, in Palestine, in Argentina, and across the world. We will continue shouting no to impunity," said Celeste Fierro, activist and deputy of the City of Buenos Aires. A second protester said she joined the march to express her solidarity with the State of Palestine because, she said, they are 'living through the worst horrors'.   "Not only because of the 500 already dead that there are, because the ceasefire does not exist, but also because of the rain, the lack of food. Our heart is with the people of Gaza. We want them to be free from the river to the sea. And we will continue from Argentina fighting so that this country does not align itself with the genocidal Netanyahu and with Trump," the protester said. As part of the demonstration, the organising groups called on Argentina to adopt a firmer stance in international bodies regarding the conflict in Gaza. They also demanded the protection of civilians and the opening of humanitarian corridors. In addition to the march in Buenos Aires, demonstrations for the International Day of Solidarity with Palestine were also held in 13 cities worldwide, including Paris, Rome, Barcelona, Madrid, Oslo, Washington and Mexico City."
