'Lucky to have Japan as our second home' - Hundreds flock to Tokyo as Philippine Festival 2025 kicks off

"Hundreds of people flocked to the Philippine Festival 2025 in Tokyo on Saturday as the grand cultural event kicked off at Yoyogi Park, featuring joyful activities and culturally rich programmes. Footage shows visitors touring various booths at the event, taking pictures, and exploring different Filipino products. They can also be seen engaging in lively games and performances, experiencing traditional Filipino massages, and savouring a variety of Filipino delicacies. "This Philippine festival is our way of raising money so that we have funds to support these Filipinos who need assistance. Also, we have projects that we support in the Philippines for poor communities," Vice Chairman of the Philippine Assistant Group Erwin Brunio noted. "The Philippines in Japan is indeed showing the uniqueness and the support for each other, so we are very lucky to have Japan as our second home," he added. Brunio underlined that the 2025 edition also serves as a 'precocious' event to mark the Philippines-Japan relations' 70th anniversary next year. The Philippine Festival 2025 runs from November 29 to 30 at Tokyo's Yoyogi Park. At the end of 2024, approximately 341,000 Filipino nationals resided in Japan, making them the fourth-largest foreign community in the country, according to reports."
