On your marks! 24th Zayed Charity Run kicks off in Abu Dhabi with over 10,000 participants

"Over 10,000 runners took part in the 24th Zayed Charity Run on Sunday in Abu Dhabi, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Footage captures runners taking off from the start line, winners celebrating on the podium, and performances of traditional Emirati dances. "I am delighted by the turnout of youth today, and as observed, delegations from Brazil and China joined the UAE's annual Zayed Charity Run event," said Mohamed Helal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee for the Zayed Charity Run. "I secured first place. Having placed third in the last 10 km championship in Brazil, I demonstrated my capability today," the race winner shared. "This event holds a special place in our hearts, and we ensure we take part in it annually," he added. The race represents a 'leading humanitarian message,' with proceeds supporting three advanced research programs at the Abu Dhabi Stem Cells Centre, including the development of innovative cancer treatments using tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes and the creation of an AI platform to advance precision medicine, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported. The agency confirmed the event offers total prizes of '1.5 million dirhams to boost competitiveness and motivate participants'."
