MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine National Police (PNP) said authorities confiscated 79,953 illegal firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices as of 7 a.m. on Sunday. The seized items were valued at P1.22 million, the PNP noted in a statement. In a separate statement, the PNP said its Ligtas Paskuhan operations arrested 23 individuals nationwide as of 7 p.m. on Saturday for violations of Republic Act No. 7183, which regulates firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices.
