MANILA, Philippines — An individual posing as a parish priest has been arrested in Camarines Sur for allegedly soliciting donations online, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) said on Monday. According to the NBI, the entrapment operation and arrest were made on February 3 in Naga City, where marked money and the mobile device used to commit fraud were confiscated. “The investigation was launched following a complaint from a member of the clergy, whose name and photograph were used to deceive acquaintances into sending funds,” the bureau said in a statement.
