Rain from shear line continues to affect parts of Bicol, Visayas; cloud clusters are spotted at PAR boundary

MANILA, Philippines – Several cloud clusters or formations at the boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) were spotted on Tuesday, the state-run weather agency said in its early morning briefing. Weather specialist Veronica Torres of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), however, did not elaborate on their development and direction in the coming days. Torres said the convergence of hot and cold air called shear line has been affecting the Visayas, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, and Dinagat Islands where cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms were possible. Meanwhile, the Pagasa forecaster said the northeast monsoon or "amihan" would prevail over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Central Luzon, the rest of Bicol Region, and Quezon where overcast skies with light rains would be likely. The same weather system will be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon where partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains will occur within the next 24 hours, the national weather bureau said. The rest of Mindanao will be affected by the localized thunderstorms which will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, it added.
