MANILA, Philippines — Although the government declared Feb. 25, 2026, the anniversary of the People Power Revolution, as a “special working holiday,” the University of Santo Tomas (UST) announced that it would join the De La Salle University and the Ateneo de Manila University in declaring a school holiday. UST reminded its community late on Monday that the school holiday was indicated in their academic calendar for this year. Because of that, classes in all levels, as well as office work, are to be suspended. “May we continue championing the causes of liberty and rule of law as a free people,” the university’s Office of the Secretary General said. Ateneo and La Salle announced that they were suspending classes in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
