MANILA, Philippines — The Office of the Ombudsman is looking into the files of the late Public Works undersecretary Maria Catalina Cabral involving alleged anomalies on the government's flood control projects. The office took custody of the central processing unit of Cabral, which had been turned over by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). "Unfortunately, meron kaming hindi nakita sa mga files (Unfortunately, there was something we did not see in the files)," Remulla said in a press conference on Tuesday after he spoke at his office's strategic planning conference at the Camp John Hay Convention Center. "So what we did was to go to the cloud. [...] So we got the records from the cloud," Remulla said. He said "we're still investigating everything." Cabral was reported to have committed suicide over allegations of her involvement in the flood control scams.
