MANILA, Philippines — More senators have fired back at China’s criticism of the Senate’s passage of a resolution condemning remarks by the Chinese Embassy that targeted Philippine officials and institutions for positions taken in defense of national sovereignty and maritime rights. Chinese Embassy spokesperson Ji Lingpeng labeled the Senate’s passage of Senate Resolution No. 256 as a mere political stunt. This did not sit well with Senators Risa Hontiveros and Kiko Pangilinan, who lambasted the embassy spokesperson in response.
