MANILA, Philippines — Persons with disabilities (PWDs) are now able to work as station service aides at the Manila Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1), the railway’s private operator said. Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) on Wednesday announced that it has begun deploying PWDs into its station workforce as ambulant ticket vendors. PWDs hired by the railway operator under its “Project PWD: Promoting Workforce Diversity” program will be employed under a part-time scheme.
