Over 2 million kids in Mindanao got shots vs measles, rubella

MANILA, Philippines — More than 2.2 million children in Mindanao have been vaccinated against measles and rubella nearly a month into the Department of Health’s (DOH) “Ligtas Tigdas” campaign. But hundreds of thousands more remain unvaccinated, the DOH said on Wednesday.  In its situation report covering January 19 to February 10, 2026, the department reported that 2,220,284 children aged 6 to 59 months have received measles-rubella shots across Mindanao.
