MANILA, Philippines – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) is set to place under investigation at least 1,000 Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) officials for alleged irregularities regarding the fire safety inspection of establishments and the purchase of their fire safety equipment, Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla said on Thursday Remulla previously said he was cracking down on corruption in the BFP after instituting reforms in the Philippine National Police (PNP).
