'European democracy is dying, we must win!' - Orban at CPAC Hungary as Trump endorses PM's re-election

"Prime Minister Viktor Orban reiterated his calls to 'make Europe great again,' while criticising the bloc's decisions on Ukraine, speaking at the CPAC summit in Budapest on Saturday. "Brussels does not represent the interests of the people, the European people, but instead the president of Ukraine. The United States wants peace, while Brussels and Kiev want to continue the war. Enough—stop it!" he said "European democracy is dying [...] We will win this election, and afterwards we will not stop, but move forward, because the future of Europe should be decided not by bureaucrats, but by the nations of Europe," he added. US President Donald Trump joined the event remotely, greeting attendees and praising Orban's leadership. "He has my complete and total endorsement [...] He’s responsible for it. So I hope he wins, and I hope he wins big. To everyone at CPAC Hungary, thank you for your commitment to common sense and conservative principles," he stated. For his part, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto highlighted the risks of admitting countries at war into the European Union, stressing the need to safeguard infrastructure and national security. CPAC Hungary is an annual gathering of conservative political figures and commentators from Europe and beyond, hosted in Budapest. The conference, held just weeks ahead of Hungary’s parliamentary elections, saw a mix of domestic and foreign voices voicing concerns over sovereignty, migration, and Europe’s future. This year’s conference brings together a diverse range of international figures, including politicians from across Europe and Latin America, such as Javier Milei (Argentina), Geert Wilders (Netherlands), Eduardo Bolsonaro (Brazil), and Santiago Abascal (Spain)."
