"Authorities of the Turkish port city of Ordu on Saturday announced destruction of the US-produced AEGIR-W unmanned surface vehicle (USV) found by local residents off the coast in Unye district. Footage shows naval drone floating at the coast line as well as the explosion emerging during controlled detonation operation. "Specialists from Istanbul's S.A.S Group Command examined the vessel on Saturday, March 21, 2026 and concluded around 2:00 p.m. that it remained operational and was carrying munitions. It was towed approximately four kilometres offshore and destroyed in a controlled blast," Ordu governor office announced. No official statement revealing the USV origin had been released by the time of publication."
