'Campaign against Hezbollah has only just begun' - Israel's military chief approves plan to deepen offensives in Lebanon

"The Israel Defence Forces’ (IDF) Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, on Sunday approved plans to deepen ground operations in Lebanon as Israel expands its campaign along the northern border. Footage released by the IDF shows Zamir presiding over a meeting of high-ranking military officials at an undisclosed location in Israel. Some faces have been blurred to hide identities. The exact date and location of the footage cannot be independently verified. "The campaign against Hezbollah has just begun. At the end of the campaign in Iran, Hezbollah will be left alone and isolated," Zamir said in an official statement. The military chief also stated that Hezbollah made a 'serious mistake' when it joined the Iranian regime in its campaign against Israel. "The message is clear: there is no safe place for the (Iranian) regime and its proxies. Any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel will be met with a determined, precise, and powerful response," he added. Israel says it has struck more than 2,000 targets, including dozens of weapons depots, and killed 'hundreds' of Hezbollah members. The IDF warned it would be a 'long campaign' and would continue until the 'threat' is removed from its border. Israel's air and ground attacks on Lebanon have already displaced more than one million people and killed around 1,000, opening a new front in the Middle East conflict."
