ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police remained fully active on the second day of Eid-ul-Fitr, deploying over 3,000 officers and personnel to ensure security and traffic management across the federal capital. An official told APP on Sunday that IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi was personally overseeing the security arrangements, while DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza and other senior officers were present in the field. He said that security arrangements were being continuously reviewed across the city, with strict measures in place at checkpoints, recreational spots and other important locations. The official added that special pickets had been established at entry and exit points to ensure effective checking, while all patrolling units remained active with enhanced vigilance. He said that police officers had been directed to behave politely with families and provide maximum facilitation during Eid holidays. The official further said that a crackdown against one-wheeling and hooliganism was underway, while parks had been declared family-only areas with restricted entry for unrelated individuals. DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said that due to effective security measures on the first day of Eid, no untoward incident was reported in the capital. He added that police officers were performing their duties with a spirit of public service during Eid days, ensuring safety and convenience for citizens.
