Assam minister Nandita Garlosa has joined the Congress party. This move follows the BJP denying her a ticket for the upcoming assembly polls. Garlosa previously represented the Haflong constituency. The BJP has fielded a new candidate for Haflong. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met with Garlosa. Elections for the Assam assembly are scheduled for April 9.
