Cebu, Philippines–Transport group PISTON-Cebu joins a nationwide transport strike on March 27. PISTON ( Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide)-Cebu said the protest amplifies the response to what the group calls the government’s lack of support for the transport sector amid the continuing increase in oil prices. It also reechoes their call to abolish the oil deregulation law and the removal of value-added tax (VAT) on fuel products.
