Court resets hearing vs starlet, vlogger to April over 'adult' content access to children

MANILA, Philippines — The battle over explicit online content that could reach children continued Friday as sexy star Salome Salvi appeared at the Makati City Prosecutor’s Office while vlogger Brian Babilonia skipped his second consecutive hearing, prompting the preliminary investigation to be reset to April 16. Salvi personally attended the second preliminary investigation hearing for alleged violations of Article 201 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Anti-Cybercrime Act. Babilonia, who also goes by the name Tio Bri, was absent for the second consecutive hearing, according to the Kapisanan ng Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas Inc. (KSMBPI). The complaints stemmed from content posted on public social media platforms that the group said were “easily accessible to children.” KSMBPI said it had issued cease-and-desist notices through its legal counsel, Mark Tolentino, in November 2025, but these were allegedly ignored, prompting the filing of cases earlier this month. KSMBPI Chairman Michael Raymond Aragon said the camp of Salvi had sought a dialogue prior to the filing of charges. However, both sides ultimately agreed to let the legal process proceed. He added that the organization was preparing to file additional complaints against other entities it accused of posting similar adult content online. “We are set to file similar cases against Cinepop and T-Bone corporations once our evidence and witnesses are complete,” Aragon said, reiterating the group’s call for stricter compliance to prevent minors from accessing explicit materials online.
