Treet advances lithium battery entry in Pakistan with first import arriving soon

Tapping into Pakistan’s rapidly expanding renewable trend, Treet Corporation Limited, a Pakistani diversified business group, expects its first shipment of lithium batteries to arrive shortly. The company’s management disclosed the development during an analyst call on Thursday, which was attended by Topline Securities. “The first shipment of imported lithium battery is expected to arrive soon, and revenue will be visible in 4Q,” said the brokerage house in a note. Treet’s management shared that the decision for local assembly will be contingent on the response to these imported batteries. Earlier this year, the company announced its entry into Pakistan’s fast-growing lithium-ion battery segment as it positions its battery business for the country’s accelerating shift towards solar energy and modern storage solutions. “We’ve partnered with a major Chinese manufacturer to launch lithium-ion batteries plus inverters—about five SKUs across different sizes, including tower and wall-mounted solutions,” said Syed Sheharyar Ali, CEO of Treet Corporation Limited, in an interview with BR Research. There has been a growing shift towards alternative energy sources in Pakistan, especially solar, which has become increasingly popular among the residential and commercial sectors. On the shift toward lithium batteries, Treet management commented that traditional batteries will remain in use, with demand peaking during seasons when grid availability is lower, read the Topline report. The company is engaged in the manufacturing and sale of razors and razor blades, along with other trading activities.
