"US Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived at the G7 foreign ministers' meeting in Vaux-de-Cernay on Friday after missing the opening day of talks on Thursday. Footage shows Rubio being welcomed by French counterpart Jean-Noel Barrot ahead of taking part in a family photo session with other participants and heading for a general discussion. Before arriving in France, Rubio renewed Washington's criticism of European allies for rejecting its proposal to support the US in securing the Strait of Hormuz, declaring, "I'm not there to make them happy." The situation around the Strait of Hormuz - which handles around 20 per cent of global oil and LNG traffic - has seen prices surge since the attack on Iran. President Donald Trump condemned his Western allies for refusing to help secure it, while Tehran has said the strait 'is open to friends and non-hostile countries but closed to enemies and those who collaborate with them'. The US and Israel launched strikes on Iran on February 28. Tehran responded with strikes on Israel and US assets in the region, with the conflict now into its fourth week.
