DTI: No price freeze amid declaration of national energy emergency

MANILA – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) on Friday clarified that no price freeze is currently in effect despite Malacañang’s declaration of a national energy emergency. In a statement, the DTI said the supply and prices of basic and prime commodities remain stable following the issuance of Executive Order (EO) No. 110, which aims to safeguard domestic oil supply amid the Middle East conflict. EO 110 “is a strategic measure specifically designed to address potential disruptions in the global oil supply chain,” the DTI said.
